Haruna Ishola, others to thrill guests at Ojude Oba

Apala singer, Musiliu ‘Haruna’ Ishola, will lead other musicians to entertain guests at this year’s Ojude Oba festival, which holds in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. The festival is returning after a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The festival is a colourful display of the rich culture of the Ijebu people, particularly those from Ijebu Ode. The event is usually held three days after the Eid al-Kabir (Sallah) celebration, and it attracts lots of tourists, who come from different walks of life to  have fun.

Merrymakers gathered that apala singer, Musiliu ‘Haruna’ Ishola, will be joined by other artistes to entertain guests at the event.

Other activities that will take place at the festival include the stylish display of different age groups known as ‘regberegbe’. Natives of the town will then converge in front of the king’s palace to pay obeisance to him.

There will also be a horse-riding competition, as well as other cultural displays.

The festival will be hosted by the Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, while the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will be the guest of honour.
